Die Gruppensieger nehmen an der WM-Endrunde teil. Außerdem sind Schweden als Veranstalter und Deutschland als Weltmeister automatisch für die WM-Endrunde qualifiziert. Einer der Gruppenzweiten (durch Los bestimmt) bestreitet zusätzliche Qualifikationsspiele gegen den Sieger der Asien- und Afrikaqualifikation.
